Abstract

Purpose

Technical advantages embraced by blockchain, such as distributed ledger, P2P networks, consensus mechanisms and smart contracts, are highly compatible with addressing the security issues of transferring and storing judicial documents and obtaining the feedback and evaluation of judicial translation services in cases with foreign elements. Therefore, based on this, a consortium blockchain-based model for supervising the overall process of judicial translation services in cases with foreign elements is proposed.

Design/methodology/approach

Some judicial documents are required to be translated when there are language barriers in cases with foreign elements. The purpose of this paper is expected to address security issues, which is ignored, in the process of translating judicial documents.

Findings

The experimental results show that the model constructed in this paper can effectively guarantee the security and privacy of transferring and storing translated judicial documents in cases with foreign elements, and realize the credibility and traceability of feedbacks and evaluations of judicial translation services. In addition, the underlying network communications is stable and the speed for processing data can meet the requirements of practical application.

Originality/value

The research in this paper provides an innovative scheme for judicial translation services in cases with foreign elements. The model constructed is conducive to protecting the security of the transfer and storage of judicial documents and improving the efficiency and modernization ability of hearing cases with foreign elements.

Abstract

Purpose

To guide the stable radius clearance choice of water-lubricated bearings for single screw compressors, this paper aims to analyze the effects of turbulence and cavitation on bearing performance under two conditions of specified external load and radius clearance.

Design/methodology/approach

A modified Reynolds equation considering turbulence and cavitation is adopted, based on the Jakobsson–Floberg–Olsson boundary condition, Ng–Pan model and turbulent factors. The equation is solved using the finite difference method and successive over-relaxation method to investigate the bearing performance.

Findings

The turbulent effect can increase the hydrodynamic pressure and cavitation. In addition, the turbulent effect can lead to an increase in the equilibrium radius clearance. The turbulent region exhibits a higher load capacity and cavitation rate. However, the increased cavitation negatively impacts the frictional coefficient and end flow rate. The impact of turbulence increases as the radius clearance decreases. As the rotating speed increases, the turbulence effect has a greater impact on the bearing characteristics.

Originality/value

The research can provide theoretical support for the design of water-lubricated journal bearings used in high-speed water-lubricated single screw compressors.

Abstract

Purpose

This paper aims to better understand the dynamic characteristics of an aerostatic slider caused by a gas film, and the impact of a gas film slip on the load capacity, stiffness and dynamic stiffness of the guideway is studied.

Design/methodology/approach

In theory, the Navier velocity slip model is introduced for fluid continuous flow equation to calculate the flow state in the micro-state; in experimental techniques, the stiffness experiment of the guideway by digital inductance meter is performed under different loadings, which are used to inspect the simulation results.

Findings

The maximum value of bearing stiffness in the condition of considering that the gas slip is larger than that of not considering the gas slip, and the gas film clearance of maximum bearing stiffness in the condition of considering the gas slip is less than that of not considering the gas slip. This is verified by the measurement of the stiffness of the guideway.

Originality/value

This paper mostly studies the influence of the gas slip effects on the performance of the aerostatic guideway, which will make a certain contribution to the guideway stability and the machining precision of the machine tool.

Abstract

Purpose

The long‐term durability of cement becomes an important challenge in oil and gas wells due to the aggressive acid gas. H2S has been found in more and more wells. The purpose of this research was to add polymer latex to the Class G cement in order to promote the H2S corrosion resistance of oilwell cement.

Design/methodology/approach

The water loss and thickening time of cement slurry and compressive strength and gas permeability of bond cement were investigated to determine the cement formulation. The corrosion resistance of the polymer cement was compared to base Class G cement in solution with 1.8 MPa H2S at 120°C.

Findings

The optimum concentration of polystyrene latex was determined as 5 percent. The permeability change, compressive strength loss and corrosion ratio of latex cement were all lower than for the base Class G cement. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy results and microstructure details confirmed that the latex cement had stronger resistance to the aggressive medium. Thus, latex cement had excellent corrosion resistance to H2S.

Originality/value

The findings of this study can further improve the sulfide resistance of Class G cement. Two roles of the polystyrene latex were observed in the cement, including interstitial in‐filling of the pore structure and packing around hydration products, which are proposed to properly explain the results.

This paper aims to study the nonlinear supporting performance of hydrostatic ram under the impact of cutting force and search for an optimal solution to improve its stiffness.

Abstract

Purpose

This paper aims to study the nonlinear supporting performance of hydrostatic ram under the impact of cutting force and search for an optimal solution to improve its stiffness.

Design/methodology/approach

The Reynolds equation was applied to resolve the carrying capability of a single oil pad numerically, and an iteration method was used to analyze the nonlinear supporting force and stiffness of a pair of oil pads placed face-to-face. The total offset of ram could be obtained after the displacement of aspectant oil pads was solved by the bisection method. From the comparison of the offset values of ram evaluated under different support conditions, the optimal solution was determined.

Findings

In this study, an optimized oil supply allocation, concluded as 1.16:0.84, is proposed to improve the performance of hydrostatic ram supporting structure.

Originality/value

The supporting performance of hydrostatic ram could be improved by appropriate allocation of oil supply without extra energy consumption.
